While Jean Larrivée started building guitars way back in 1967, it's taken a while for the rest of the guitar world to catch up. Only over the last 20 years have players begun to really appreciate and seek out these wonderful instruments, which indisputably go blow-for-blow against the major American manufacturers. This 2003 L-05 has been one of our most exciting recent additions, with a big, bold sound that's opened up nicely over two decades of consistent playing time, giving it a clarity that can be hard to find in a new instrument. Larrivée's L shape takes after Gibson designs, but features a longer scale length for a bit of added volume and response. Visual appointments include an abalone rosette and some eye-catching maple binding on the body.
This instrument is in very good condition, with a below typical amount of wear for one of its age. There are a handful of dents and chips in the top and the body binding, but no wear that seriously compromises the guitar visually. It recently had its bridge re-glued and received a full professional set up with a fret dress, level, and crown. Included in the price is the original hard-shell case.
