Description
While we love their dreadnaughts, we think Larrivée's approach to building really shines in their small-bodied guitars, like this 00-40 from the Canadian company's Legacy Series. With a Sitka spruce top and mahogany on the back and sides, this sweet little six-string has a punchy and surprisingly loud sound despite its size, especially when played with a pick, instantly making it a favorite for folk guitarists and singer-songwriters. We're also a big fan of the minimal cosmetics - a full matte finish ensures the wood isn't strangled by a heavy lacquer, and sets off nicely against vintage-inspired appointments like rope inlays and the jumbo celluloid pickguard. Included in the price is a Larrivée hard-shell case.
