It's a problem we've all wrangled with at one point or another - whether bringing our guitar on a plane is worth the hassle, extra boarding fees, and the risk of a damaged instrument (and broken heart). Lucky for us, Journey Guitars have introduced collapsible travel guitars that make traveling stress-free a pinch for the busy musician. The first of the two models we've decided to carry is the OF660M, from Journey's Overhead line. It's a half-size, modified 00 guitar with an easy to remove neck that can easily be stored in the small overhead compartment luggage case that Journey includes with each instrument. Taking the OF660M apart takes less than five minutes, and the proprietary-designed nut and locking tuners mean that the guitar stays in tune even when disassembled. The all carbon fiber construction also makes the OF660M nearly impervious to changes in temperature and humidity, as well as any damage that might otherwise occur while flying. It even includes Journey's own JourneyTek passive pickup system, meaning you can plug into an amplifier anywhere your travels take you.
