Description

The Gibson J-50 has long been one of America's favorite guitars, with a quality-of-build and a warm, rich sound that has made it the acoustic of choice for countless performers. This one, from 1968, is one of our most exciting new arrivals, with an open, played-in sound unlike anything a new production guitar can get you. With a spruce top and mahogany back, sides, and neck, Gibson's most famous slope-shoulder has lots of punch and midrange, but also excels in more delicate applications, making it a perfect fit for virtually any player who appreciates a warmer timbre from their guitar. Minimal appointments keep the focus on the sound, but the large celluloid pickguard is unmistakable and bolsters the J-50's classic, vintage vibe. Also included is the original adjustable bridge - common on Gibson dreadnaughts of this era.

This guitar is in very good condition, with a typical amount of pick wear and finish checking considering its age. At some point in the past, its bridge was re-glued, and there is some clearly visible wear around the perimeter of the bridge as a result. All the parts are original, and there are no cracks or structural damage to the guitar. It's recently had a full professional set up and is playing great - come on down and check it out. Included in the price is a non-original chipboard case.
