Description

Colorado's very own Kent Viles has been making some of the most innovative resophonic guitars on the market for years now out of his Gunnison build shop - take, for example, this 2019 edition of his now-discontinued KV953. With a laminate mahogany body and a solid, V-tapered mahogany neck, this instrument even sounds snappy and punchy when played as an acoustic guitar, but makes for a real secret weapon on stage. This KV953 also features the optional B-Blender installed into the Bigsby tailpiece, for a little added country and western magic in your faux pedal steel licks. Viles has installed a Fishman PRO-RES-BIS passive piezo pickup for a rich, true to life tone when amplified, without the fuss of removing and replacing batteries before showtime. This instrument is loads of fun, and the fit and finish are consistent with a high level of craftsmanship - no wonder they've made their way into the hands of players like Tom Petty, Jason Isbell, and Billy Gibbons.

This instrument arrived in our store in very good condition, with overall very light playing wear and no structural or cosmetic damage. The only aftermarket addition is the installation of a irregularly sized tortoise-pattern pickguard on the upper bout. All other parts are original, and the electronics as well as the Bigsby are in good working condition. The set up is excellent, with comfortable, low action throughout the instrument's neck. Included in the price is the original soft-shell case.
