Description
While Collings are best known for their boutique versions of classic and time-tested models of American guitars, this spectacular 0002HSB begins to shift into different territory altogether - a high-end instrument for progressive fingerstyle that takes traditional designs as its point of inspiration, but moves beyond its roots into something new and unique. From its sound down to its dimensions, the 0002HSB is anything but typical, with a triple-aught sized body that narrows at the top to accommodate a 12-fret neck, but with a full, 25.5" scale length. That long scale places the guitar's vintage-style pyramid bridge over the widest part of the lower bout, producing an uncommonly rich and warm bass for a mid-sized instrument. It's a fascinating guitar that takes on different qualities in the hands of different players, and may feel subtle and modern to one picker while coming off as forward and classic to another. To top it all off, the 0002HSB features a gorgeous sunburst finish on top, instantly setting it apart visually from the rest of the field. Included in the price is a hard-shell case, manufactured for Collings by TKL.
