No one man has helped to modernize the resonator guitar quite like Maryland's Paul Beard, whose high-end spun cones have become the gold standard among both square-neck and round-neck players for their smooth, rich sustain and warm sound. But Paul's far more than just a parts manufacturer, and as a talented and innovative luthier in his own right, his namesake instruments stand among the very best resophonic guitars currently in production. This Legacy R, which dates from 2022, shows all of Beard's best traits as a builder on display in a complete package of a round-neck, with a comfortable, single cutaway body shape, high-end appointments, and, of course, the fantastic tone synonymous with his name. Lightly customized with a flamed maple laminate rather than the more subdued mahogany veneer that comes stock on new Legacy models, this resonator would make a unique addition to the fleet of virtually any acoustic blues fanatic you know. It even comes with a Fishman Nashville pickup system for a fantastic amplified tone right off the shelf.

This instrument arrived in our store excellent condition, with very light playing wear that only barely distinguishes it from a brand new model. The set up is excellent, with low, very playable action still within factory spec, and the neck is overall very straight with mild relief, aiding both tone as well as intonation. Included in the price is the original hard-shell case.
