Description

It's a blast from the (recent) past at the Denver Folklore Center! We loved having Pono's outstanding guitar-style octave mandolins in our store - so when this 2020 MD-20 SB found its way back to our shop, we leapt at the opportunity to help it find a new home. Pono's octave mandolins were the brainchild of luthier Kilin Reece, whose innovative takes on mandolin family instruments have won him countless fans, and the MD-20 provides a great example of some of his best work. With an Engelmann spruce top and a mahogany neck, back, and sides, the MD-20 boasts a bright and clear voice in all positions, with lots of low end and sustain thanks to its deep body. This model also features a sunburst finish on top for a little added visual flair.

This instrument has seen some playing time from its single previous owner, but there is a typical to below typical amount of scuffs and scrapes, and nothing that significantly impacts its aesthetic appeal. The bridge has been reglued, but there are no cracks or finish issues that indicate improper care and humidification. The set up is very comfortable, and the neck is straight. We consider it to be in very good condition. Included in the price is the original hard-shell case.
