Description
Each mandolin that comes out of Pava Knezevic's Austin-based luthiery seems to somehow be better than the last, and this stunning A5 Player continues that trend, showing exactly why she's ascended to the A-ranks among mandolin builders. The A5 Player features exceptional cuts of Adirondack red spruce on the top, and lovely figured red maple on the back and sides, which give this instrument a remarkable versatility that suits it well for solo music, old time, or Americana. When played gently, the A5 Player creates delicate, sweet overtones that suit it very well towards classical music, but the Adirondack spruce maintains impressive clarity when driven by a hard right hand, allowing it to stand out clearly in the context of a traditional string band. Visually, it also stands among some of Pava's nicest models, with an alluring shellac sunburst finish which remains just light enough to show the natural figuring of the tonewoods underneath. Included in the price is a Superior fiberglass hard-shell case, allowing this exceptional mandolin to stay properly protected.
