Description
We're head over heels for this gorgeous 2021 0-18 from Martin's Custom Shop, which elevates an already superb fingerpicking guitar into a deluxe pre-war inspired powerhouse. Rather than the tonewood package that generally appears on Martin's standard 18 series, this small-but-mighty six-string features an Adirondack spruce top bolstered by Martin's patented Vintage Tone System for extra volume, punch, and projection. The top is bolstered by a premium sinker mahogany neck, back, and sides, adding extra openness and presence to the natural character of the already very lively wood. In line with the upgraded tonewoods, this 0-18 comes with a modified V neck profile for a feel more akin to a pre-war Martin, too. In fact, in only one respect does this guitar eschew old school for modern - it comes with an L.R. Baggs Lyric active bridgeplate pickup installed, allowing you to be heard with crystal clear tonal integrity anywhere your music takes you.
Playing wear is altogether lighter than average, with a small amount of scuffing and denting on the top consistent with normal but careful playing time. No significant repairs have been done on this instrument, and there are no cracks anywhere on any plane of the guitar. Aftermarket alterations consist of the previously mentioned L.R. Baggs pickup, as well as a chrome strap button installed on the neck heel. We consider it to be in very good condition. Included in the price is the original hard-shell case.
*Please note, per our return policy, all sales on used and consignment instruments are final.*
