Description
Marc Beneteau's instruments have rapidly become a favorite of ours at the Denver Folklore Center - and each time we see one, we can't help but feel lucky, considering how few the Ontario-based luthier makes. This Concert Standard from 2008 features everything we love about his work, with premium tonewoods, stunning aesthetics, and an exceptional sound. Mr. Beneteau here opts for a torrefied Sitka spruce top in combination with rare Mun ebony on the back and sides for a powerful and rich sound with lots of low end. That natural tone is amplified even more by a sound port on the top bass side, directing some extra tone up towards the player. As with all of Marc's instruments, the visual appointments on this Concert Standard are tremendously beautiful, and feature extensive use of crimson-red bloodwood for the guitar's binding and inlays. It's sure to impress even the most discerning player.
This instrument shows next to no signs of playing wear and has been carefully humidified and maintained throughout its life. We consider it to be in excellent condition. Included in the price is the original hard-shell case.
