Description
Aside from his world-famous Cyclone planetary tuners, Bill Rickard is perhaps best known for his spunover and half-spun open-back banjos, which come clad in either brass or copper. This beautiful custom half-spun 11" from the Ontario builder's workshop has quickly become a new favorite in our store, with a bright and ultra-projecting tone that balances the very present low end we tend to hear out of Bill's instruments. The brass exterior partially covers a maple pot, which pairs with an impeccably milled maple neck and a Whyte Laydie tone ring for a sound that blends old-time magic with new school workmanship. Aside from the cladding, aesthetic touches tend to be minimal and informed by classic designs, but small touches like the aged hardware and the dalmatian amber buttons help to indicate that this is an instrument of genuine class and pedigree. Included in the price is a Superior hard-shell case.
