Description
We'd readily recommend any of Bill Rickard's banjos to any clawhammer player who walks in through the door, but the Cherry Little Wonder is oftentimes the first one we hand to prospective customers - it just typifies everything that the Ontario-based builder does best. Blessed with a rich, full voice by way of its traditional tonewoods and rolled brass tone ring, this 11" open-back seems to fill out every part of the frequency spectrum and is a perfect option for solo melodic clawhammer while retaining enough cut and precision to work nicely within the context of an old-time stringband. As per usual, Bill's impeccably milled necks make this banjo an absolute delight to play, and his world-famous Cyclone planetary tuners provide best-in-the-business tuning accuracy and stability. The Cherry Little Wonder features modest and vintage-inspired aesthetic appointments. including a hardwood vine inlay on the headstock and a hardwood checkered inlay around the rim. It's a fantastic tool for fine traditional music and would make for a lifetime instrument in the hands of a serious player. Included in the price is a Superior hardshell case, manufactured for Rickard by Saga Instruments.
