Description
As the inaugural model in Pisgah's lineup, the Possum is perhaps the company's most quintessential instrument - it's got all the thumping lows, crisp highs, and authentic Appalachian construction that have catapulted Patrick Sawyer and his team to the forefront of the world of old-time banjo. This 12" model boasts all-walnut construction for a balanced and remarkably clear sound that seems to fill out the full frequency spectrum, making this an ideal instrument for solo melodic clawhammer. Aesthetic appointments are minimal but elegant and inspired by the world of traditional Appalachian and southern folk art, with hardwood inlays, aged hardware, and a minimal matte finish that really lets the natural figuring in the walnut shine. The Possum now comes with a magnetic truss rod cover, making the action easily adjustable via the headstock, and each instrument comes immaculately set up with true medium action perfect for all types of frailing. Included in the price is a Pisgah Banjo Company soft-shell case.
