Description
Asheville, North Carolina's Pisgah Banjo Company simply seem to do everything well - including anomalies like this A-scale open-back from their Possum line. With a fantastic set up and an immaculately milled neck, this small-but-mighty five-string is a clawhammer picker's dream with an elegant, boutique feel that betrays the banjo's handmade pedigree. The Possum utilizes a persimmon tone ring for a warm and rich sound that generates a strong fundamental, nicely balancing the brightness of the cherry neck and pot, and giving the instrument a formidable growl even in its naturally higher register. Persimmon is also used for the fingerboard and headstock overlay for an old-school Appalachian look that will win over even the most discerning players. Included in the price is a Pisgah gig bag, manufactured for the company by Access.
