Description
The Wizard is one of Ome's most popular banjos for good reason - it's a high quality, easy-on-the-eyes open-back designed specifically for the clawhammer player, and built by expert hands just 30 minutes north of Denver in beautiful Boulder, Colorado. This one, with a walnut pot and neck, takes the things we love about the maple Wizard and casts it in a new light, with a warm, mellow sound perfect for the player who wants something a little richer and less strident, suited best for solo melodic play. With a short scale length (coming in just over 25.5 inches), and a full frailing scoop, it's also one of the easiest-playing banjos in our store, especially keeping your left hand nice and loose and allowing your right hand thumb to roam freely. Cosmetics are modest and tasteful, with star inlays on the headstock and the scoop, and a very light tung-oil matte finish keeps the walnut sounding lively. It's one of our favorite Omes, and we're confident it'll be one of your favorites, too. Included in the price is a Superior hard-shell case.
