Description

We love showing off this beautiful Ome Silver Monarch to every bluegrass banjo player who walks in through the door - with a bright, resonant, and loud tone that seems to ring for days on end, it's got everything a three-finger player needs. This instrument, which dates from around 2009, is exemplary of some of Ome's best work when the company was based out of Boulder, Colorado, and as a model that was discontinued in 2012, there aren't many examples of the Silver Monarch floating around currently, let alone ones for sale. The neck, pot, and resonator are all built from highly figured maple, which ranges from vibrant flaming on the neck to subtle quilting on the back, and everything is cast in a lovely gloss merlot finish that doesn't obscure the beauty of the wood underneath. The Silver Monarch featured Ome's proprietary Megatone 20-hole ring on the inside, and a delicately machined one-piece F-hole flange for added brightness and sustain. It's one of the best resonators we've ever seen from the manufacturer, and a lovely piece that has only gotten better over 15 years of playing in.

This instrument arrived in our store in excellent condition and playing wear is very minimal, with only the slightest scuffing on the back. The original tuners have been replaced with Rickard Cyclones, a sought-after upgrade which typically costs hundreds of dollars. It has also parted ways with its original case, and now comes paired with a Golden Gate resonator hard-shell, which fits it very well.

*Please note, per our return policy, all sales on used and consignment instruments are final.*
