We've currently got quite the array of excellent Ome Banjos at the Denver Folklore Center, including this spectacular custom-shop Ome Hummingbird from 2015. The wonderfully figured curly maple on both the pot and the neck provides the Hummingbird with some subtle visual flair while also lending it the bright, twangy sound that banjo players yearn for. What's more, the tubaphone-style tone ring under the rim adds heft, volume, and a little more bass than one might expect to find on a banjo like this one, allowing the instrument to be driven a little harder when the player is backing up the melody. But the sweet and clear sound of the maple makes the Hummingbird one of the most versatile instruments in our inventory, making it just as suited to solo melodic clawhammer playing, as well. Beyond the tonewoods and the tone ring, the Hummingbird also features some of the most splendid inlay work we've ever seen from Ome, with lovely bird and flower inlays up and down the fretboard in both abalone as well as impressively colorful mother-of-pearl. Some beautiful heel carving, cream binding on the neck and pot, and engraved aged brass hardware complete the package visually. It's truly one of the best open-back banjos we've seen from Ome.

This banjo is in excellent condition, and has never required any major repairs. The banjo has not been played extensively, with almost nothing in the way of wear on the frets, and no damage, cosmetic or otherwise, anywhere on the pot, neck, or headstock. Included in the price is the original Ome gig bag that was included with the instrument at the time of purchase.
