Description
While we've been lucky enough to get plenty of Colorado-era Ome open-backs in our store over the last year, none have managed to stick around for long - and we expect it'll be the more of the same in the case of this 2012 Ome Wizard, which has impressed every player we've handed it to. With an 11" cherry pot and a mahogany neck, the Wizard boasts a bright and clear sound with strong fundamentals, but also sports a rich and complex midrange that suits it very well to solo melodic clawhammer. Cosmetics are generally more minimal, with understated abalone fretboard inlays and Ome's North Star inlay motif on the headstock, but the Wizard has a beauty all its own thanks to impeccable craftsmanship and the Boulder era's legendary quality-of-build.
This instrument arrived in our store with very little in the way of playing wear. It has recently seen a fresh set up including a full professional fret dress and crown, and plays very well in all positions, with a comfortable amount of relief and action designed with the serious clawhammer player in mind. We consider it to be in very good condition. Included in the price is the original hard-shell case.
