Description
Shift into top gear with this Little Bird 12" Hot Rod Tackhead, the latest from our pal Ken Ptaszek down in Colorado Springs. A glittery candy apple red finish and a flame motif on the calfskin head (which, as we understand it, makes the banjo go faster) have this instrument looking like a Colorado low-rider, but the Hot Rod is more than just a pretty face. Ken used a cherry neck in combination with a maple pot for a classic mountain banjo sound that absolutely snarls tuned down to E standard. That's to say nothing of the natural merits inherent to the fretless five-string banjo, which invokes the spirit of rural Appalachia like no other instrument can. As all of Little Bird's instruments are one-of-a-kind, this will be the only Hot Rod we get - come check it out before its brief pit stop in our store is over.
