Fare Thee Well Fretless Gourd Banjo
Description
Our pal Jason at Fare Thee Well banjos has pushed it up another notch with his latest gourd banjo, an all-killer-no-filler fretless five-string with a huge sound. A martin gourd combines with a white limba neck for a rich sound with clear highs and some phenomenal lows, especially when tuned all the way down to C standard or double F. In addition, Jason has added an innovative stainless steel tone ring on the interior to give the instrument extra sustain, richness, and volume. As per usual, a goatskin head covers the top of the gourd, but this time, its nylon strings are held in place with high-end Gotoh planetary tuners. We also love the cosmetic appointments on this new FTW, with a granadillo fretboard and peghead overlay, a walnut bridge and tailpiece, and a finely carved neck heel. Included in the price is a tooled leather strap.
