Description
A terrific bluegrass machine from the fine people at the Deering Banjo Company at an absolutely criminal price. This 2002 Deering Sierra has all the clear, chiming sound that three-finger players love, but with the added dimensionality that a mahogany neck and pot provide. As most Sierras come with maple for a classic sound, this version is slightly more rare and lends it applications outside of traditional bluegrass music. As always, the Sierra comes with a -06- tone ring and a one-piece flange. This is a relatively early edition with the classic Deering Eagle logo on the headstock, rather than the more elaborate mother of pearl flourish that is more common on newer versions. All told, a great deal on a great banjo. Comes with the original hard shell case.
