Description
We always leap at the opportunity to represent any of Rob Bishline's banjos, and this beautiful 2014 Rosemary shows exactly why. Featuring all-mahogany construction, a Bishline 20-hole tone ring inspired by the most iconic banjo tonal systems of years past, and a hefty one-piece flange, this instrument has a truly powerful voice with both the richness and complexity that modern progressive acoustic music requires as well as plenty of the volume required to push it to the forefront of a stringband. The Rosemary also features some elegant abalone inlay work on the headstock that takes after classic banjo appointments from the instrument's storied history, as well as flamed maple binding and some decadent quilting in the maple on the back of the resonator. We find this to be an ideal tool for all types of bluegrass and feel it would make an exceptional working axe for the gigging Scruggs-style player.
This instrument arrived in our store in very good condition, with cosmetic wear relatively in line with a banjo of its age. The wear on the head is strictly cosmetic - it's still very tight and tunes up to tension nicely. The finish scuffing is very minor and is generally relegated to the back of the resonator. It currently is set up low for bluegrass three-finger, and boasts a straight neck and excellent playability in all positions. Included in the price is a non-original Superior hard-shell case, which fits it very well.
