Description
While Wonder and Dobson-style tone rings may be more common in most modern old-time banjos, there's something to be said for the big, bright sound of the Tubaphone, which this terrific Pisgah 11" five-string comes fully equipped with for the serious clawhammer player. As the early progenitor to the standard Gibson-style Mastertone found on many resonator banjos today, the Tubaphone boasts a twangier sound than most tone rings used in open-back banjos, and adds nice projection and clarity, especially in higher positions on the neck. When combined with Pisgah's world-renowned craftsmanship, you end up with a clawhammer tool like none other. The Tubaphone features aged brass hardware, wood inlays, and a vintage dark stain to help it look the part, too. Included in the price is a Pisgah gig bag, manufactured for the company by Access.
