The MM-150 was Gold Tone's first open-back banjo and to this day remains an excellent choice for an intermediate instrument for a clawhammer player, with an exceptional sound and set-up for the cost. Geared towards players specifically interested in old-time and folk music, the MM-150 features a number of desirable attributes more common in higher-end open-backs, including the classic Whyte Ladye tone ring, a 1/2-inch solid maple pot, a frailing scoop, and a vintage-style armrest. The MM-150 is no slouch cosmetically, either, with a handsome full-gloss finish and a series of vintage-inspired snowflake fretboard inlays. The MM-150 has a surprisingly bassy and rich sound for an 11" pot, and comes equipped with a Renaissance head for the extra tonal warmth. Finally, included in the price is a Gold Tone gig bag.
