New Folk and Acoustic Instruments
This page provides an overview of the Denver Folklore Center's new instruments stock. Specific models will vary from time to time, so please call to inquire about the model that interests you.
In addition to the instruments listed below, we carry Becker and Meisel fiddles, Oscar Schmidt and Johnson autoharps, and Hohner concertinas and harmonicas. And we also have a good selection of small instruments, including tin whistles, Native American flutes, recorders, jaw harps, kids' instruments, bodhrans, and tambourines.
If you're just learning to play an instrument, you might prefer to rent before purchasing your instrument. We rent student-quality instruments on an "introductory" basis - please call for more information.

For over a decade, we have been a proud dealer for Santa Cruz guitars. These are wonderful hand-built instruments from the small shop of Richard Hoover, who has been building guitars since 1972. Ome Banjos:
One of the best known makers of stringed instruments in the history of Colorado is Ome Banjos. Our owner (Harry Tuft) has known the owner of Ome (Chuck Ogsbury) since the early 60s, and for nearly that entire time Harry has been proud to sell Chuck's banjos. If you want a real "hand-built instrument" from a small shop, we urge you to consider buying an Ome.
